Four options for January with Barcelona looking for a Wijnaldum figure
The Catalans did not get the Dutchman in the summer as he went to PSG
Ronald Koeman has wanted a midfielder for a long time. He has said that Barcelona need a more physical player. He wants someone to complement Pedri and De Jong. Georgio Wijnaldum was his target. A very intense player in both boxes, who can score but also fights to win the ball back and applies pressure.
Barcelona came close to him in the summer but PSG whisked him away. The Catalans for their part did not manage to get anyone else in, and in fact they lost Ilaix Moriba.
Koeman still wants a physical midfielder and there are four options. Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele is on the list. He has not convinced there after arriving for 60m euros. He offered himself to Barcelona this summer.
Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic is also an option. His contract is up at the end of the season. AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, 24, also fits the profile.
A different type of player, more attacking, is Donny van de Beek at Manchester United, who is not getting many minutes.
