The transfer of Neymar to PSG has once again come into the spotlight after FootballLeaks revealed more documents to the media. According to German newspaper 'Der Spiegel', the cost of Neymar's move to PSG actually turned out to be €252m. PSG paid Barcelona €222m to buyout Neymar's existing contract as well as two sets of commissions. One of which went to Pini Zahavi, a person key in making this deal happen, and the other went to player's representatives. Both were for the value of €10.7m.
PSG also took over the payment to Santos, who were due five percent after bringing him through their youth academy. In the end they transferred €8.7m to the Brazilian club. All of these payments were made immediately following PSG's decision to buyout Neymar's contract at Barcelona. This means that the full fee, paid up front, was €252m and not the €222m which PSG acknowledges publicly.
Neymar's contract at PSG is a staggering €25.5m, after tax, per season plus an extra €5m if he behaves correctly. The player signed a five-year contact with PSG. It was also revealed that the French club covers all the taxes for their players so Neymar, assuming he doesn't do anything wrong, will earn €30.5m per season after tax.
