First meeting between Deco and Xavi ahead of the summer

The coach met the man who is going to be the next sporting director, or so it seems

Although he has not yet been announced in the role, Anderson da Souza -- 'Deco' -- is tipped to be FC Barcelona's next director of football. He is the best placed and the meeting the other day at president Joan Laporta's house, during the Real Madrid-Manchester City game, leaves him on track. And in this context, as reported this Friday by the programme 'Què t'hi jugues', the Portuguese-Brazilian former player has met Xavi, in their 'first contact'.

Barça has many open fronts in the market while waiting for the 'OK' of the League to the financial plan (something Eduard Romeu confirmed in an interview with SPORT).

In this sense, while the landing of the former Barça player as head of the technical secretariat is not officially communicated, Xavi has transmitted his 'requests/priorities' in the face of a few months that are expected to be very hot.

Deco landed last Tuesday in Barcelona to hold several meetings and almost to start 'exercising' as director of football. One of the issues he has to resolve in the next few days before taking up the position is what to do with his agency, a direct clash of interests as his client is a member of the squad such as Raphinha.
