Fenerbahce coach Ismail Kartal has been asked about the future of Arda Güler, who is very close to signing for Real Madrid after Florentino Perez's bid on Tuesday.

The Turkish coach acknowledged that "the best clubs in Europe have been interested in Arda Güler" in recent days and made it clear that the final decision "will depend on the interests of the boy and the president".

"The best clubs in Europe have been interested in Arda Güler. He is a player with an impressive talent and it is normal that the best clubs want him," Kartal told a press conference.

"The final decision will be made between the boy and the president. They are dealing with it now. The best decision will be made in the interests of the club and the player. He is a player who is developing, who is on the rise and who will surely perform wherever he goes," he added.

Real Madrid are currently leading the race for Güler's services. FC Barcelona were very optimistic about signing him, but yesterday Real Madrid made an offer of more than 20 million euros to Fenerbahce and convinced the promising youngster with an interesting proposal on a sporting and financial level. The Catalan club's management is not giving up on the player yet, but they are well aware that the deal is "very difficult".

For his part, Fenerbahce president Ali Koc warned that he would not give a "long answer" on the matter, but confirmed that "Arda will leave because he wants to leave".

"We found formulas that allowed him to stay with us, but he has decided to leave. We all know that he is a player who is very much loved by our fans. We will explain how everything has developed, but the process is not yet complete. It's a matter of one or two days," he concluded.
