FC Barcelona in complete disagreement with latest developments in Neymar case

The Blaugrana think that "some very strange things are happening" in the courts

Barcelona communicated on Monday night that they have “decided to appeal against the National Court judge Jose de la Mata’s proposal to send Neymar Jr, his parents, Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell and the club to trial in the case brought about by investment company DIS regarding the signing of the Brazilian player.

“The board express their surprise and complete disagreement with the resolution and the reasoning, especially keeping in mind that the same magistrate decided to archive the case in July. In the case that it goes to trial, Barcelona will maintain the stance that they have always held throughout the case that everyone under investigation is innocent.”

In this regard, FC Barcelona spokesman Josep Vives, believes that "it is a great inconsistency that the prosecution, which is a single body, with the same facts, agree a pact in Barcelona and yet accuse us of criminal offences in Madrid.” In Vives’ opinion, “this causes us great legal uncertainty," adding that "while our ability to be surprised is running out, all this outrages and worries us.”
