FC Barcelona clarify that goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen is not for sale

The club is not looking at selling the German goalkeeper, as to solve the issue of registrations, the activation of a third lever is already planned

Certain reports in Madrid had suggested that Barça's management might be willing to sell Marc-André Ter Stegen if Frenkie de Jong continues to refuse to either leave or reduce his salary. It would be, according to these reports, an alternate solution to be able to register the new signings.

In truth, however, neither the board nor the coaching staff headed by Xavi Hernandez are thinking about selling the German goalkeeper, who will remain the first choice this season with Iñaki Peña guarding his back. Ter Stegen is not for sale and will not be either, the club confirmed. The team has confidence in the German, hoping that this season he will return to his best form. They may, however, at some point negotiate a salary reduction, with him and with other high earners in the squad.

While Barça desperately needs to fix departures and contract renewals, Ter Stegen's departure as any sort of solution has been ruled out. Instead, the board has already prepared the activation of a third lever in case it is necessary, an operation that would give the club about 100 million euros and would facilitate the registration of all new players.
