Only Manchester City and Leeds have spent more money on squad reinforcements this transfer season

FC Barcelona is once again one of the roosters of the soccer market. At least, that is what the numbers indicate. Until just a few weeks ago, their situation was mired with a serious financial emergency, and almost nearing ruin, but the Spanish club's fortunes have since taken flight and are now able to compete with the leading European clubs in terms of spending.

The activation of the first lever and the fact that the second lever has been also closed, for which though we are still awaiting an official announcement, have catapulted the options of the Cataln club presided by Joan Laporta. Not counting the variables, Barça has already spent 103 million euros this season, including a projected 58 million for Raphinha and 45 million for Lewandowski, and depending on those two deals, the figure could rise to 115.

However, the good management of Mateu Alemany and company has meant that there have actually been four signings so far since Kessié and Christensen arrived at zero cost. Pablo Torres is included in the above balance. Only Manchester City (108.75 according to Transfermarkt) and Leeds, with 105.64, exceed the amount invested by Barca on transfers this season among Europe's clubs. Obviously, it is a ranking that can change at any time, since Arsenal, which has currently spent 97 million, is close to signing Zinchenko from Manchester City for 30 million euros, and that would put it above their counterparts from Manchester. Completing the TOP-10 in this list are Chelsea (94.2), Tottenham (87.2), Dortmund (86), Liverpool (85.8), and Madrid (80, currently, but who could reach 100) and PSG (79.5).
