Everton are interested in Barcelona goalkeeper Neto
The Brazilian is poised to leave the club this summer and could go to Merseyside
That Neto will not stay at Barcelona is an open secret. Barring any big surprise, he will leave the club and play for the last time against Eibar on Saturday. Ter Stegen’s absence has allowed Neto to say a goodbye.
SPORT have learned that Everton are interested in him. Barca want 16 million euros. Neto arrived at Camp Nou in 2019 in exchange for Cillessen with Valencia. Barca earned 35m euros for the Dutchman and spent 26 of those on Neto.
Barcelona have amortised his signing and are ready to let him go. He has played 16 games, only participating when Ter Stegen has had injury problems. The Brazilian understood his position before arriving, but he did say at his presentation he would try to become Barca’s No 1.
In the past winter window he asked to leave but the club shut the door on him going as they wanted him on the bench until the end of the season.
