Esport 3: Barcelona make contact with Valencia for left-back Gaya

The Catalan club want to sell Junior and increase competition for Alba

Barcelona are targeting Valencia left-back Jose Luis Gaya, according to a report on Catalan television channel Esport 3.

Barça have supposedly already been in contact with Valencia to sound out the terms of a possible deal for the Spain defender.

The response they got, according to the same report, was more than encouraging: 15 million euros plus add-ons.

Remember that the Blaugrana hope to sell Junior Firpo in the summer and to sign a top quality full-back to compete with Jordi Alba, who is still able to compete at the top level and turns 32 in March.

In addition to Gaya, Villarreal's Alfonso Pedraza is also being watched, as is Angeliño, who's on loan at RB Leipzig, although a deal would be tougher for him as Manchester City have no pressure to sell for cheap.
