Ernesto Valverde says he’s fine with Gerard Pique’s extra-curricular activities - his involvement with the Davis Cup.
“There’s no need to worry, it’s not been bad for us with Pique,” said the coach. “It’s true he goes to some places, but we hope he has as good a season as he did last year.
“If in his free time he wants to watch a game of tennis, it’s his free time.”
Valverde also spoke about Ivan Rakitic, who is not playing as much this season, as the club looked to sell him in the summer.
“I don’t think the player has been punished in any way, in the end we have a lot of players in the middle of the pitch and if Rakitic, Arthur, Vidal or Busquets doesn’t play, it’s news.
“It’s hard for all of them to play. There’s De Jong and Sergi Roberto playing in midfield. We have to work out the minutes as we go.”
