No Eric Garcia debut for Girona but Julian Araujo impresses for Las Palmas

There was plenty of Barça interest in Sunday's game at Montilivi

Barcelona's Eric Garcia, who left on loan to Girona in the final hours of the summer transfer window, was on the bench on Sunday against Las Palmas but did not make his debut.

The centre-back did not play a part in his side's narrow 1-0 win, as Portu scored two minutes from time to secure the three points.

Míchel's side remain in the top two with 10 points from 12 and have made their best-ever start to a league campaign. The other player on loan from Barça at Girona is Pablo Torre, who did get minutes. The midfielder came on in the 62nd minute and contributed to the final push.

Girona faced Las Palmas, where Julián Araujo, another player on loan from Barça, was in the starting line-up. The Mexican full-back, who had already played some minutes in the previous game, started for the first time and put in a great performance.

The full-back came close to scoring his first goal with a header that Gazzaniga saved. Araujo is making a good impression in his first few games for Las Palmas, despite having been out of action for several months. The Mexican is standing out above all for his defensive work, despite being an attacking player.

Mika Mármol was also a starter for Garcia Pimienta's side. The centre-back, for whom Barça still have 50% of his rights, once again made it clear that he is one of the players to watch at Las Palmas. The former Barça man put in a spectacular performance, especially in the attacking phase. His first pass and his driving runs are one of the great weapons of Pimienta's side.
