The defender singled out the German's match-winning save late on

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia credited Marc-Andre ter Stegen for Sunday's 1-0 win over Mallorca in LaLiga.

Ter Stegen madee a stnning late save from Jaume Costa after Luuk de Jong had opened the scoring in the first half.

"We owe 70 percent of the win to Ter Stegen," Garcia told Movistar. "He was spectacular. He's a top goalkeeper. We know he responds in moments like that. Mallorca were pressing and we knew we had to soak it up and we've shown we're able to do that."

The victory on Sunday was even more impressive given Barça's long list of absentees due to coronavirus, injuries and suspensions.

Barça move fifth with the win, one point behind Atletico Madrid and two off Real Betis as they target a Champions League place.

"We know we had some big players missing but I think we'll go on getting bodies back now," Garcia added.

"We stepped up today and played well in the first half. Teams above us dropped points and it was important to win to start the year well and close the gap on those above us.
