Eric Garcia a step away from becoming a Barcelona player
The Man City defender has agreed to join the Catalan side
Eric Garcia will be a Barcelona player, 100 per cent. Either now or in June, depending on if a deal is done with Man City and the new president approves the operation. Barcelona have the player’s word that he will sign for five seasons, in a pre-agreement, which will include an extra half a year if he does come now.
The club are trying to find a favourable agreement with City and hope that they can now that the English side know Garcia is definitely going. The new president will have to ratify the deal - or all of the pre-candidates if the elections are not held on Jan 24 because of the pandemic.
Eric Garcia and his people have been sure of a Barca switch since the summer but the club waited until Jan 1 to present the offer to him because of the rules. Per Blaugrana sources, the deal is total and the contracts are being finalised. Eric Garcia made a big effort to come to Barca, with City’s renewal offer worth much more economically.
