English press speculate drastic plan of 'revenge' from Chelsea against Barça

Sunday Express believe that the fights for Raphinha and Koundé would have left the blues with a thirst for revenge, which may take the form of offensives for the signings of Ansu Fati, Gavi, Araujo, Depay and Frenkie de Jong

The British press had earlier reported the signing of Raphinha to Chelsea, who wound up signing for Barça, and Chelsea may be feeling some déjà vu now with Koundé. These episodes are certain to provoke the London club, who would see fit to inflict several reprisals upon their Spanish counterparts. SPORT already reported the first of such; Thomas Tuchel's club are planning to block the departures of Marcos Alonso and César Azpilicueta to Barcelona. Back in the UK, though, there is a belief that Chelsea could take a step further.

Sunday Express have claimed that the new owner, Todd Boehly, might have a plan of launching an offensive for five Barça players, namely Ansu Fati, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong.

The fate of the first three cases seems moot; they have a transfer clause of 1 billion euros, with the expception of Gavi who is still under 18. Barça do not intend to part with any of the trio, but in the cases of the two Dutch players, the scenario is different.

Both are looking for a way out, and if a good offer arrives from the blues that can entice the players, the alleged revenge will come as a great relief for FC Barcelona. It will be interesting to see if, and how, the miffed London club will retaliate against FC Barcelona in the coming days.
