Doubts loom over Barça keeper Neto's move to Celta Vigo

According to Faro de Vigo, the Galician club remain optimistic about the Brazilian goalkeeper's arrival at Balaídos but have intensified their search for alternatives.

Neto is one of five FC Barcelona players who have not travelled to the United States for the preseason tour. The Brazilian goalkeeper, who is in the orbit of Celta, is on the verge of exiting the Spanish club, but they are yet to give a definitive answer to his situation.

Faro de Vigo has stated that the goalkeeper is willing to continue his career in Balaídos, but wants to collect the fees for the remaining year of his contract at Barça, and his high tab is a roadblock in the negotiations. Celta, for now, is on standby but remains very interested in Neto and he is their priority option for a goalkeeper. Vigo's sports officials are optimistic, although they have intensified the search for alternative options in the event Barça does not reach an agreement with the Brazilian, to put an end to his three-season spell with them, whether through a contract termination or a loan.

Pedrag Rajkovic, a 26-year-old goalkeeper who has defended the Stade Reims goal since 2019, is the main alternative to Neto that Celta are eyeing as they wait for the Brazilian to sort out his future with Barça. The player from Araxá has yet to make a definitive decision, but everything seems to indicate that his time in the club is up. He has a top record as a goalkeeper for a few years now, but if he wants to play as a regular again in a team, he will have to leave Barça in search of new opportunities.
