Dortmund CEO confirms Real Madrid interest in Barça target Haaland

The Norway striker is one of the most wanted players in the game at the moment

Borussia Dortmund seem more resigned with each day to the idea of Erling Haaland leaving in the summer. The striker is wanted by Europe's biggest clubs and the German side know they can't match his ambitions.

Even a January move has not been ruled out, although his next step remains unknown. Barcelona are one of the clubs chasing him, although the financial situation at Camp Nou makes him more of a dream for now.

Another side in the race is Real Madrid, as confirmed by Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke in an interview with Bild.

"They are very interested in him," he said of Madrid. "I am certain of that. I could name 25 teams now. Maybe he will leave, but he could stay. A few days ago I had a chat with (his agent) Mino Raiola. It was a friendly call. We will have another meeting in the coming weeks."

Dortmund sporting director has also spoken about Haaland's situation in an interview with Sky.

"We know he has the opportunity to change (club) under certain conditions and we're going to speak in the coming weeks," Zorc said.
