Alemany has offers from other clubs but is focused on Barça's summer window for now

Just a few days ago there was a rumour that Aston Villa had 'tapped up' Barcelona's Mateu Alemany to head up their football department, offering him a free hand in a new sporting project and a very significant salary.

Villa have not been the only club that have sounded out the Barça director of football. Alemany, as of today, has rejected any proposal. What is also true is that the Blaugrana executive's contract at Camp Nou ends in 2024 and, for now, he has not renewed despite president Joan Laporta's desire to tie him down for another season.

For now, Alemany is going to focus on overseeing the summer market as Barça's top sporting executive and then we'll see.

Among other things, because there could be complicated times ahead in view of the huge salary cuts that the sporting area will have to take in order to comply with LaLiga's demands.

Both Alemany and Barça are confident that there will be a certain relaxation that suits the majority of LaLiga teams, absolutely suffocated by Tebas' iron fist. Solving this is his priority at the moment and his future will be dealt with after the summer.
