Diego Simeone addresses the future of Barça target Joao Felix
The Atletico Madrid coach has admitted that he has not spoken to the striker since he returned from his loan spell at Chelsea
Joao Felix's future is still up in the air, his leaving Atletico Madrid being the most plausible outcome currently. The Portuguese striker does not see eye to eye with Cholo Simeone, who would not impede his departure.
The Argentinian sat down for an interview with Marca, in which he reviewed the current Atlético de Madrid situation, as well as Joao Félix's future.
Asked if the Portuguese understood what it is to play for the rojiblanco, the coach answered: "What he is giving us or gave us is what was seen. I don't think he has kept anything back from what he could have given. Just as I behaved with him, trying to give the maximum to get something out of him. Possibly in his search, he needs something more... he and his agents and the club will decide".
Cholo also confirmed that he has not had any conversation with the player this summer, since his loan spell at Chelsea came to an end. Asked, again, if the player wants to go to Barça, Simeone answered: "As I always say, the best way to find out is to talk to him. He will know his motives".
The Atlético de Madrid coach is clear: "I want to win, I don't care who is there to achieve the objective," he replied when asked if it would be a problem if he had to stay at the Cívitas Metropolitano. The soap opera is far from over. There are still several chapters left to unravel the outcome.
