Departing Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde says goodbye to players
Valverde arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Tuesday to say farewell
The now-former Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Tuesday morning to say goodbye to the players and correct his personal belongings.
Valverde took Monday's session with the players after the Spanish Supercopa defeat to Atletico and later met with president Josep Maria Bartomeu at the training ground. It was then that he was told he would be leaving the club.
Hours later, after a long board meeting and intense negotiations, the club officially revealed that they'd reached an agreement for Valverde's contract to be terminated, with Quique Setien replacing him.
TV3 journalist Francesc Latorre caught Calverde arriving at the training ground on Monday, minutes before Setien, who met the players for their first session together at 11am local time.
