Denis Suarez joins Celta Vigo for 16 million euros
The Galician has gone back to where it all started for him
Barcelona have sold midfielder Denis Suarez to Celta Vigo for 12.9 million euros, plus 3.1 million in variables.
The playmaker, from Galicia, started his career at Celta before heading to Manchester City in 2011.
Barcelona signed him in 2013 but loaned him out to Sevilla and then sold him to Villarreal. They bought him back and loaned him out again to Arsenal last season.
Denis never managed to force his way into the side at Barcelona and become a regular starter.
He has signed a four-year deal with Celta Vigo.
“In total, Denis Suárez played 71 official matches in three seasons with the club, scoring eight goals and winning five titles: a league, two Copas del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups,” wrote Barcelona.
“In his previous spell, with Barça B, he played 36 matches.”
