Barcelona told the French forward on Thursday he has to find a new club

Ousmane Dembele's agent Moussa Sissoko plans to meet with Barcelona next week, either on Monday or Tuesday, to try and find a solution to the forward's situation, with the player currently not being considered for selection due to a failure to reach an agreement over a new contract.

Barça coach Xavi Hernandez left Dembele out of the squad for Thursday's Copa del Rey exit at Athletic Club, with Dembele taking to social media to say he would not allow people to doubt his implication or professionalism.

Director football Mateu Alemany, meanwhile, assured that the player had to leave immediately and that the club could not count on players who were not committed.

Elsewhere, the Spanish Players Association (the AFE) said they would take measures to protect Dembele legally if dropping him from the team is being used as a means of pressure in order to get him to renew.

Despite all that, neither Dembele nor his agent have given up on negotiations with Barça. Sissoko plans to meet with the club next week in a new attempt to reach a renewal agreement, with the current terms expiring in June.
