The France forward was forced off against his former side in the first half

Ousmane Dembele was taken off injured against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday after just 25 minutes of Barcelona's Champions League game.

The France forward suffered a thigh problem after clashing with a Dortmund player. He had been active in the game until that point, playing on the left ahead of Antoine Griezmann.

The frustration was evident at another possible spell on the sidelines. As soon as he went down he took off his boots and chucked them on the ground.

He was eventually able to walk off without the need for a stretcher, but he was in tears as he left the pitch and headed down the tunnel.

International teammate Antoine Griezmann came on to replace Dembele, who has now suffered nine injuries since he joined the Catalan club from Dortmund for more than 100 million euros in 2017.

He will now undergo further tests with Barça to confirm the nature of the injury in the coming hours and, possibly, the time he will be out for.
