The French forward's been out for four months but is closing in on a return to action

Ousmane Dembele is close to making his Barcelona return. According to Esport 3, the French forward could make the squad for Wednesday's game at Rayo Vallecano.

Injured since June 19, when he hurt his knee while playing against Hungary at Euro 2020, has been sidelined for the last four months.

The former Borussia Dortmund man had a check-up in Finland on Wednesday with the doctors that operated on him in June, with that serving as the green light for him to return to action.

As has been the case with Ansu Fati, and now with Sergio Aguero, Dembele will make his return gradually, without the club taking any risks.

Meanwhile, remember that Dembele and Barça are still in talks over a new deal. The days are passing and June 30 is drawing closer, when he can leave for free.

Barça have been clear that if he decides not to renew in the end, he will spend the rest of the season in the stands.
