Searching the market for Luis Suarez’s substitute is a tough task and an important one at Barca, after Ronald Koeman told the Uruguayan he was not needed this season.
Barca’s sporting director Ramon Planes and his colleagues got to work on looking for a No 9 straight away.
Maxi Gomez, Suarez’s compatriot, came up, along with Olympique Lyon’s Moussa Dembele - who scored against Man City in Lisbon.
Per journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, it was Koeman’s assistant Henrik Larsson, who got in touch with Dembele’s people to see if there is interest. We will see how negotiations go, but in theory the French forward should want to move.
