Decisive meeting in Leeds over Raphinha future
The Catalans want to bring him for 40m euros at most to Camp Nou
Barcelona’s move for Raphinha is reaching a decisive point. The Brazilian’s future could be decided this week. SPORT have learned there is a new meeting in England between Mateu Alemany and Leeds’s directors.
In this new meeting, Barcelona want to lower Raphinha’s price. Leeds want 50 million euros, a price which is not reachable for Barcelona, despite their new financial leverage.
Barcelona want to pay at most 40 million euros and are willing to include a player, if it is necessary.
Barcelona don’t want negotiations to drag on to stop other teams interfering. If a deal is reached, Raphinha will arrive on July 1.
The player wants to come and Laporta called the winger to reassure him that Barcelona can pull off a move.
Leeds are looking at Wolves’s Adama Traore as a possible replacement. With Deco operating as Raphinha’s agent and trying to bring him to Barcelona, the strategy is working.
Raphinha’s idol was Ronaldinho, who is also a friend of his father’s going back years.
