De Jong told to leave Barça for Liverpool while at the World Cup
The midfielder received a curious proposal while training with the Dutch team
A Qatari citizen made a curious request to Frenkie De Jong, the FC Barcelona midfielder who is attracting interest from some of the biggest Premier League teams.
De Jong explained the anecdote at a press conference. "First, I asked him about his situation here, but I think the guys were happy not to think about it. He was telling me to join Liverpool and he was trying to convince me."
The Dutchman did not want to position himself, and he explained that he is focused on the World Cup.
"I feel very good at the moment, but right now I'm not thinking about Barcelona, we're here at the World Cup. I think it's the biggest stage in world football. I always dreamed of being here and winning the World Cup, so we're very focused on that," he concluded.
