Ajax could meet Barcelona in the Champions League final

Frenkie de Jong, despite having announced his move to Barça, which will become official in the summer, has made it clear that he remains an Ajax player, and as such his loyalties are with the Dutch side.

De Jong's comments come with the possibility of a Champions League final between Barça and Ajax on the horizon. Both sides are in the last four. The Catalans will play Liverpool and Ajax meet Tottenham.

"A final against Barça would be special," the midfielder told FourFourTwo. "But at the same time I don't mind who we play against. While I am an Ajax player, I want Ajax to win."

"I wouldn't have a problem trying to knock Barça out, as we did against Real Madrid," De Jong added, in reference to Ajax's 4-1 win at the Santiago Bernabeu in the last 16.

The Eredivisie side followed that win up by beating Juventus this week to reac hthe semifinal.
