Both players went off with discomfort in the semifinal win over Real Betis

Barcelona carried out a recovery training session on Friday afternoon at their hotel in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, where the Spanish Supercopa is being held.

Barça coach Xavi Hernández 'rested' the Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé and Dutchman Frenkie De Jong, who ended Thursday's semifinal against Betis with discomfort.

"They had some discomfort," Xavi said after the Supercopa semifinal win over Real Betis on Thursday.

"I have changed Frenkie and Dembelé [in the second half] for that reason, let's hope it is not serious, just discomfort and that we will get them both back for the final."

Setbacks that, except for an unexpected twist, should not jeopardise the presence of both in the final of the Spanish Supercops against Real Madrid on Sunday -(20:00 CET time, -1 GMT).

After the exhaustion of having to go to penalties to eliminate Betis, the Barcelona coaching staff only prepared a gentle recovery session at their hotel and it will not be until Saturday when the players step back onto the pitch, in the official training session that will take place at 18:00 CET at the Al Nassr Sports City.
