Days of signings at Barça Atletic as Casado, Txus Alba & more pen deals
Joan Laporta was present as several players signed their deals with the Catalan club
It was signing day at the Barcelona offices on Wednesday as, in the presence of Joan Laporta, several contract renewals and new arrivals penned their deals.
Marc Casadó, Chadi Riad, Txus Alba, Juanda and Pelayo all officially signed their renewals after being promoted from the U18s. So has Arnau Rafús, who extends his relationship with the club for another season, while recovering from a knee injury.
In addition to closing some renewals, Àlex Carbonell and Álvaro Núñez also formally sealed their incorporation into the club, in both cases until June 30, 2023. As is the protocol in this type of event, Laporta gave them all their membership cards as they became socios.
As well as the presence of Laporta, the event was also attended by the vice-president, Rafael Yuste, the president of Barça Atlétic, Jordi Casals, and the director of youth football, José Ramón Alexanco. In total, there were eight players who stamped their signature with Barça Atlètic, who are full of new faces this season, starting on the bench, where Rafa Márquez has started well.
The reserve team has two wins and one draw so far. But, above all, they are playing well. Marquez has a squad with very young footballers and the quality of Ilias, who is establishing himself as the great reference of the team.
The forward is playing better and better after a season last time out spent between three teams: Juvenil A, the reserve team and the first team.
