The footballer wants 15m euros after tax a season and a big sign on fee

Barcelona have been in contact with Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, who won't sign a new contract in Germany and can leave next summer. However they have not been fruitful, because Alaba has elevated contract demands which Barcelona cannot come near to meeting.

Alaba wants 15 million euros net per season - a 30m euro cost for the club - and also a big sign on fee, effectively replacing the transfer fee Barca would have to pay.

The Austrian defender is no longer in Barca's thoughts because the club's perilous financial situation would certainly not bear that added cost. They are trying to negotiate pay cuts for their current players because they lost 300m euros because of the pandemic.

Alaba has played 394 games for Bayern, scoring 31 goals and giving 49 assists. He's in his 12th season with Bayern, having won two Champions Leagues, nine Bundesligas, six German cups and one Club World Cup.
