The player is loved by everyone in Barcelona and could say goodbye at the Gamper

Once a rule, always a rule. With that phrase tattooed on his heart, Dani Alves returned to his home for over eight years with Pumas in the Joan Gamper trophy, to say goodbye.

He came out to warm up and got cheered by Camp Nou. Alves jumped on Ter Steen’s back and signed big hearts in the air for the fans at Camp Nou.

Over the speakers they announced Alves would get a homage. A video of his best moments at Barcelona and a voice saying: “Thank you for all you have given us during these years. Receive this applause from those who will always be your fans.”

Alves could not contain his emotions and cried, hugging his old team-mates, the new signings and president Joan Laporta. He received a framed shirt with 431 on the back from captain Sergio Busquets, representing the number of games he played for the club. This will always be his home.

At the end, he was tossed into the air several times by his former team-mates.
