Dani Alves picked up a minor ankle injury in Barcelona's draw with Sevilla

Dani Alves suffered an ankle injury in Barcelona's draw with Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjaun on Saturday.

The Brazilian right-back was due to miss Wednesday's match with Paris Saint-Germain anyway due to the yellow card he picked up against Manchester City in the last round resulting in a ban.

Alongside Thomas Vermaelen, he is the only player not included in the party travelling to France on Tuesday for the match.

Barça B's Munir El Haddadi will make the journey with the first team squad.

It was decided it was best if Alves didn't travel so that the could stay in Barcelona to recover in time for Saturday's match with Valencia in La Liga.

Alves also missed the last match with PSG, a 3-1 win at Camp Nou in December.

On that occasion, Luis Enrique opted for a 3-4-3 formation, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar grabbing the goals.
