Cruyff restructures Barça's scouting & recruitment department
Joel Lara will play a key role in the new set up and be the link to Cruyff
Since Jordi Cruyff returned to Barcelona as the head of international football, his ascendancy in many decisions continues to grow.
Proof of this is the restructuring that is taking place in the scouting area, where Joel Lara, Cruyff's most trusted man, who landed at the club a few weeks ago, will have a very important role in the department. He will be the link between the scouts and Cruyff.
In fact, Joel Lara will assume from now on the tasks previously carried out by José Mari Bakero. In that sense, the former 'Dream Team' player returns the same responsibilities that he had before leading the scouting department and will continue to coordinate the scouts of Barça B and grassroots football.
Mateu Alemany, for his part, will continue to be, from his position as director of football, the highest-ranking member of the recruitment department, which is once again undergoing some changes -- there have been numerous readjustments in recent times.
Jordi Cruyff is trying to give some sort of stability to this area.
