Croatia coach says Rakitic pulled out of squad to sort out club future
Juventus remain keen to sign the midfielder before the window closes on Monday
Croatia coach Zlakto Dalic has confirmed that Ivan Rakitic, one of the country's best players has asked not to be in the squad for the games against Slovakia and Azerbaijan this week.
Dalic, according to Goal.com, has said that the Barcelona midfielder said that he didn't want to take part with his club future still up in the air. The transfer window closes on Monday, so we don't know if it's just a provisional decision from Rakitic.
Rakitic was offered to Paris Saint-Germain in exchange for Neymar last week and is now drawing interest from Italian side Juventus. In addition, he has not started any of Barça's three league games this season.
Dalic said in a press conference: "I spoke with Rakitic, who has still not resolved his future with his club and at this moment is not ready to play for the national team."
With just a few hours remaining in the transfer window, Rakitic's future remains up in the air.
