Coutinho signing does not shut door to Max Meyer joining Barca
The Schalke midfielder is one of the club's objectives for the summer window
Barcelona have not forgotten about Max Meyer. The 22 year old Schalke midfielder has an offer from the club to sign in the summer, according to the Daily Star, who quote a spokesman for the German club.
Meyer debuted in the 2013 Bundesliga and Champions League and is out of contract at the end of this season. "Max will decide soon if he wants to stay," said a Schalke representative. "Max is happy here, it's his home, but we have to look for an economic deal that can convince him."
The newspaper says Arsenal have also made contact with him to open negotiations but Barcelona are ahead of them. Despite signing Coutinho, Barca still like the idea of bringing in the young German pearl - especially given he could join for free.
Meyer is an attacking midfielder with goal power and a big potential.
