The defender will be out for a few weeks after sustaining injury in training

Barcelona's defensive problems continue to mount after Hector Bellerin was ruled out with a calf problem on Wednesday.

Bellerin picked up the injury in training on Tuesday and tests on Wednesday confirmed his unavailability for selection, the club said in a statement.

The right-back, a summer signing from Arsenal, will miss Saturday's trip to Mallora and is also set to sit out the double-header against Inter Milan, Celta Vigo's visit to Camp Nou and the Clasico against Real Madrid.

Barça said: "Tests carried out on Wednesday have confirmed that the first team player Hector Bellerin has an injury to the soleus muscle in his left calf. He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.

"Bellerin, who has made two appearances this season, felt some discomfort in his calf in Tuesday's training session."

Barça coach Xavi Hernandez now has major problems in defence, especially at right-back, having already lost Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo to injury during the international break.

Kounde and Araujo have been the first choice right-backs so far this season, despite being centre-backs, but are now out for up to a month and three months respectively.

With Bellerin also sidelined, Sergi Roberto is now the only available right-back to Xavi.

Roberto missed the win over Elche prior to the international break with a knock but is back in training and should get the green light to feature against Mallorca if picked.
