Clement Lenglet should be a Tottenham player on Monday

The French centre back has not been in favour for quite some time and has found a new home

Clement Lenglet’s time at Barcelona is up. The Blaugrana and Tottenham are in agreement over a loan for the Frenchman to the London she and the deal should be signed and sealed on Monday.

It’s not expected Lenglet returns to Barcleona first, he has permission to go straight to Tottenham, something that should be official next week, by Tuesday at the very latest. The deal is satisfactory for Barcelona, who save on his big salary, and the player could earn back some of his value if he finds form in the Premier League and Champions League.

There is a good feeling between the clubs, with Emerson moving to Spurs last summer from Barcelona.

Barcelona did not mind a loan if Tottenham paid the full salary, which they will. Lenglet was a bit doubtful, hoping for a better option. Juventus were interested but he was not a priority for them. The defender sees that under Antonio Conte he could find a place in the side, having spoken to the Italian coach.

He knows his chance of going to the World Cup with France is somewhat dependent on getting minutes and playing well.

Barcelona are grateful to Lenglet because he’s one of the few players that has agreed to go, after Xavi told the ones he is not counting on that he didn’t need them.
