Christian Eriksen on Barça's transfer agenda once again

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen was on the verge of signing for Barça before but his agent scuppered the deal

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is back on Barça's list of future prospective signings.

That's according to agent Bayram Tutumlu, who revealed the information in an interview with Danish newspaper 'BT'.  The agent, who represents former Barça midfielder Michael Laudrup, also revealed that the Danish international, one of the most exciting midfielders around at the moment, reached a deal with Barcelona in the past but his agent Michael Schoots scuppered the deal.

"Christian Eriksen invitted me to his house in London in September and asked me what he needs to do to get to a bigger club," Tutumlu said.

"I told him that a really big club wanted him. When I visited Barcelona with my adviser Evren Sahin and (Danish club) Brondby's owner Jan Bech Andersen, the Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu told us that Eriksen was going to become the next big player in Denmark after Michael Laudrup."

Tutumlu then let it slip that Eriksen had many meetings with Barça's directors and Tottenham directors.

Tutumlu blamed Michael Shoots, Eriksen's agent, for the deal not going through. "A good agent should always be in contact with the biggest clubs, I always am, even though I no longer am in the business. I just need to pick up my phone and I'm in contact with the biggest clubs," added Tutumlu.

"And Christian Eriksen knows who messed up. And it wasn't his father. I told Eriksen that if he wans to go to a bigger club it's not going to be through his agent."

Tutumlu also believes Barça are likely to go for Eriksen again, especially after their disastrous Champions League elimination to Roma.
