Chelsea will not facilitate Aubameyang's return to Barcelona for free

The English club signed the striker from Barcelona last summer

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is gaining ground as a possible offensive reinforcement for Barcelona next season. The striker wants to return to Spotify Camp Nou and is willing to make a big financial effort to have a second spell at the Catalan club, but the operation will not be so easy. And Barça know it. Chelsea, who paid €12 million for him, are not going to facilitate his departure to the Blaugrana, so the striker will have to force the machine so that everything comes to fruition.

Chelsea's anger at Aubameyang is monumental because of his offer to Barça and because his signing has turned into a real disaster. In January, the London club did offer Aubameyang a move to Major League Soccer, but the scenario has now changed. Chelsea's financial losses are sidereal and next season they will almost certainly lose their income from the Champions League, so they need to make money or, at least, not count any more losses.

That is why Barça are going to wait for developments in the Aubameyang case. The striker has not played since February and has only made four starts in the Premier League. He does not count for Chelsea and Barça believe that sooner or later the doors will open for him, although the formula could be not a contract termination but a loan in which Aubameyang himself must give up a large part of his salary. Chelsea would pay nothing and Barça would only assume the part they could so that he could be registered in LaLiga.

Chelsea, aware of Barça's interest, are trying to move the market so that there are more offers for Aubameyang. Inter Milan seem very interested in signing him, but the player is blocking any operation until Barça make a decision. The Blaugrana are clear that the player can arrive in good conditions given his firmness and he has already shown in his departure from Arsenal that he is capable of forcing the situation to the limit.

Barça experienced a similar situation with Chelsea last season in the case of Marcos Alonso. Barça had to sweat over his arrival in the final hours of the summer transfer window. At that time, the London club agreed to terminate the defender's contract and he was able to arrive on a free transfer under optimum conditions.
