Chelsea put a price on Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso

The Spanish defenders want to come to Camp Nou this summer from Stamford Bridge

Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta are waiting to join Barcelona. The duo have deals with Barcelona and have done for weeks, and are waiting patiently for the Blaugrana to sort out their financial difficulties and buy them.

Barcelona will try to seal their arrivals next week so they are with the club for the US tour. It’s not easy as Chelsea have put 13m price tags on each of their heads.

The two deals will not be taken on in one, they are different affairs. Marcos Alonso has the OK from Chelsea to leave and he has various offers, although prefers Barcelona. Barcelona think that in Alonso’s case the price can be lowered without too much difficulty.

Azpi’s case is different. Chelsea have extended his deal unilaterally by a year. The player has asked the new owners to let him leave but Tuchel wants to keep him and the club will only sell him for 13m. In this case it’s hard for the London club to drop their price.

Azpi has spoken to Tuchel to explain his reasons and is willing to put in a transfer request if he needs. He thinks that he has acted with total professionalism in recent seasons and that, as a captain, he has helped Chelsea grow. The defender wanted to be allowed to leave for free for his service, but now he hopes he can go for a small fee.

In any case, Barcelona think that both are great market opportunities. The decision to sign them has been taken and there is no going back. The sports department is working on making it more affordable.
