The London club don't want to let the striker walk away for free this summer

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become one of Barcelona's attacking priorities for next season because he is a player that could be profitable from an economic point of view. The striker wants to come back but the Catalan club have warned him that any operation must be practically free, although Chelsea are not willing to do so. The 'Mirror' explains that the London club have already made it clear to Aubameyang's camp that he cannot leave on a free transfer because they do not want to compute losses.

Chelsea's disastrous transfer strategy this season, with a multimillion-euro investment that has served no purpose, could take its toll on the new project. The English club must be more economically sustainable, but they are already preparing another €200 million on possible signings, although first they will have to let go of players. And, above all, sell players who have not worked out and will not be important for the future. There is no question of giving them away, but rather trying to get a financial return on the investments made.

There are different cases, but as for Aubameyang, the club have already warned him they do not want him but that he should leave for a small transfer fee, which could be around €4 or €5 million euros. The club paid €12 million euros to Barça for his signing and has a good part of it written off because of the player's high wage bill, but they still can't give him away. Chelsea are putting him on the market and it seems that both Inter and Milan would be willing to pay that transfer fee.

Aubameyang has already made it clear that he does not want to listen to offers and that his desire is to play for Barça and he knows that time is on his side. Chelsea are interested in saving his hefty salary, so they will have no choice but to let him leave in the end. The striker is also waiting for Barça's financial situation to clear up and see whether or not they will be able to sign players and at what price. For now, there is no hurry, but his arrival for free will not be so easy either.
