The French winger can leave for any club he likes at the end of the season for free
Chelsea have decided to go for Ousmane Dembele after discarding the signing of Serge Gnabry from Bayern because of the cost. The London side were interested in January but Dembele wanted to stay as he wants to go for free in the summer and earn a bigger salary as a result. Chelsea have made contact with his people and they have other offers on the table, with nothing decided. The economic differences with Barcelona mean he will probably leave even though he is liked within the dressing room and tells them he wants to stay.
Dembele’s people have reinitiated a round of contact with European clubs and there are only three that will listen to his demands. Manchester United, Juventus and Chelsea. His agents want to move him to the highest bidder.
They don’t just want a high salary but also a project where Dembele is indisputably a starter. Juve will have a space if Dybala leaves, but Chelsea could change things.
Barcelona aren’t thinking of making new offers to the player and in the case that Dembele wants to stay, the club expect his people to make the first step. Dembele has a good relationship with Thomas Tuchel, who was his coach at Borussia Dortmund.
