Chelsea determined in their pursuit of FC Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Chelsea are keen to reinforce their forward line, which has been left without Lukaku and Werner.
Chelsea are still interested in Aubameyang and are pushing for a negotiation with FC Barcelona to sign him. The blues coach, Thomas Tuchel, wants to reinforce his attack because he has lost Timo Wener and Lukaku. Aubameyang is a player he knows very well from his days at Borussia Dortmund. The German coach is putting pressure on Chelsea's owner Todd Boehly to make a good offer for the player.
FC Barcelona fully expected to receive offers for Aubameyang, as he performed very well last season. When the proposal arrives they will consider it, but presently they prefer Memphis Depay to be the striker who leaves.
Xavi holds Aubameyang as a very important player and needs him, and has declared him non-transferable. The club respects their coach's position bu they are obliged to listen to all the offers that come in. Aubameyang, who agreed to come for very little money when he signed, is also set to earn a much higher salary this season.
The Gabonese striker himself favours continuing for FC Barcelona since he feels at home at the club and has fitted in very well with the team. However, with Lewandowski around, he will play much less. This season he will wear number 17.
