Both players are out of favour at their clubs and could move this January
Anything or nothing could happen at Barcelona in the final days of the January window with a number of options open. Xavi Hernández has made it clear he would like to have a replacement for Memphis Depay and the club has several names on the table. One of them is Hakim Ziyech, who has been offered and for whom Chelsea would be willing to trade for Franck Kessié if necessary. The midfielder is on the transfer list for the Londoners.
Ziyech is an option that Barça already had in the last January window, but that time they preferred to bet on Ferran Torres and Adama Traore. Sporting director Jordi Cruyff would be his main endorser, butat Barça there are doubts about his inconsitency despite the fact he had an impressive World Cup. He was the leader of Morocco, who reached the semifinal.
Chelsea are open to everything with Ziyech. From a transfer to a swap for Kessié, although at Barça this operation is not in their plans currently. Only a loan and in separate operations could work, although there are doubts. Ziyech has offers from AC Milan and PSV Eindhoven and his future will be defined in the coming hours.
As for Kessié, the midfielder has frozen his departure from Barça. He would prioritise staying, but the Chelsea option could interest him. If there is finally an offer from the English club, he could do anything. What does seem more distant is that the midfielder agrees to enter into an exchange with Brozovic to go to Inter, since in that case he would prefer to wait until summer unless Barça pushes him to leave, something that has not happened so far.
