Chelsea representatives have already been in touch with Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho, currently on loan at Bayern Munich, over a summer move, according to the latest reports.
Coutinho still has a good reputation in the Premier League and, beyond Liverpool, the club he played for before joining Barça, there is plenty of interest in signing him at the end of the season.
As well as Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal and even Leicester City, coached Brendan Rodgers, have all been linked.
However, Frank Lampard's Chelsea seem to be leading the way. The London club have already reached out to his agents, according to the journalist Nicola Schira.
The good relationship between the club and Coutinho's main agent, Kia Joorabchian, could help move things along.
Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern but the German club are unlikely to execute their option to sign him permanently for 120 million euros.
Instead, he's expected to leave Barça, who signed him for 160m, for between 60 and 80m.
