Celta Vigo join in at the last minute in the bid for Martin Braithwaite

The Danish striker is close to terminating his contract with FC Barcelona with his transfer on the verge of completion

Celta Vigo have now joined the list of clubs interested in Barça striker Martin Braithwaite. All the interest sparked by the player will satisfy Xavi Hernandez, who wanted the cases of the discarded quintet to be solved both amicably and as soon as possible. The departure of the Danish striker is likely to be settled soon, albeit to Saudi Arabia.

Celta are looking to reinforce their squad in the remaining weeks of the market. They recently signed Óscar Mingueza, who will become a Celta player once he passes his medical, as the fourth defender of the squad along with Aidoo, Unai Núñez and Carlos Domínguez.

Chacho Coudet, the coach of the Galician club, also wants to reinforce the forward line and is considering Martin Braithwaite, a player who already has experience in La Liga after his spell at Leganés. Getafe and Rayo Vallecano have also shown interest in him.

The Danish international has a contract until 2024 and has been reluctant to accept his departure from Barça. Given his situation though, he will bet on playing in Saudi Arabia as the offers coming from the Gulf country are more attractive to him, not only on sporting terms but also in terms of money involved.
