Cause for concern? It's been 86 days since Neymar last played football

Whilst talk remains ongoing in regards to Neymar's possible return to FC Barcelona, there's one other concerning stat to keep in mind: the Brazilian hasn't played a match of football in 86 days.

The last time Neymar was involved in a competitive match was on the 5th June. Brazil faced Qatar in a warm-up match for the Copa America but he was forced off injured after 17 minutes. 

As we now know, that injury turned out to be serious and prevented him from being involved in the tournament. Neymar saw the Copa as an opportunity to relaunch himself onto the world stage after a poor campaign with PSG.

86 days later and the Brazilian has finally recovered from his injury and rejoined his teammates in training. However, due to the concerns about his injury and the fact his future remains unresolved, PSG have decided not to use Neymar until a decision has been made.

So it remains to be seen what kind of fitness level Neymar is at. He's clearly going to be lacking match sharpness and will need to work hard in order to force his way into the plans of whichever club he's playing for this season.
