The former captain showed his support for Leo with a tweet expressing as much
Carles Puyol has been one of the first to react to Lionel Messi's decision to leave Barcelona, which he sent via a burofax to the club.
The former Barca captain backs Leo against this board, who don't want to let him go for less than his 700 million euro release fee.
"Respect and admiration, Leo. All my support, friend," wrote Puyol on Twitter after the news broke.
Barcelona later got in touch with the Argentine forward to say they want him to stay until the end of his career. The story continues to brew.
