Calls growing for Koeman to give Barça B's Collado a chance in first team

The midfielder has been impressing week after week since recovering from an injury

In a short, packed season with so many injuries and problems, the fact that only three B team players have debuted for the first team seems low. Ilaix Moriba, Oscar Mingueza and Konrad de la Fuente are the three that have been given a chance by Ronald Koeman.

After the 6-0 win against L'Hospitalet the other day, there are growing calls for a footballer that, after recovering from his own serious injury, has not only returned in top form, but has taken Barça B on his back with exhibition after exhibition. We're talking about Alex Collado, of course.

On Jan. 20, Koeman called Collado up to train with the first team for the first time since he took charge. It was ahead of the Copa del Rey game against Cornella. The midfielder made the squad for the match but didn't make it off the bench as Barça needed extra-time against the third division side.

A month later, after setbacks on the pitch and with players not performing as expected, Collado remains with the B team waiting for a chance that is being 'demanded' more and more around the club, above all by those that closely follow the B team.

In the January transfer window, Collado was contacted by many clubs. Some from La Liga, the best sides in La Segunda and others in Serie A. But he turned them down. His dream is to play for Barça's first team and he wanted to stay with the B team and convince Koeman of his worth.

For now, he's not been able to capture the coach's attention, but he will.
