Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid to move three points clear in LaLiga

Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets says the team were extra motivated against Atletico Madrid after Real Madrid's slip-up on Saturday.

Ousmane Dembele scored the only goal of the game on Sunday as Barça beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 to move three points clear at the top after Madrid lost 2-1 to Villarreal.

"We knew Madrid had slipped up at Villarreal and it was an opportunity we had to take -- and we did," Busquets told Movistar after the game.

Atletico came into the game after going behind but Barça showed another side of their game to hold on to the three points at the Estadio Metropolitano.

"We know how tough it is to come here, but we got ourselves in front and Pedri had the chance to score a second," Busquets added.

"They pressed after and didn't let us out. We had more control in the second half and even though we had to summer, we picked up three really important points."
